Dr. Gauthier Branding

Dr. S. Gauthier asked for a crest logo that represented his Canadian practice, while incorporating elements from the historic logo of the Royal Canadian Dental Corps (1914), or RCDC. In the logo, maple leaves and crown elements from the RCDC logo are stylized and simplified into a more contemporary rendition. The bluejays were added for an illustrative accent to further drive the Canadian feel. The use of ochre as the brand colour brings out a warm, earthy and historic feel. This particular shade of ochre was chosen as it is a vibrant, gold-based colour, but is dark enough to be fully legible for print applications.

Sketches

Included below are some other options from the sketch phase. Other Canadian symbols were used in place of the blue jays, as well as one option with more focus on the maple leaves.
